ARTIST BIO:

My work is rooted in belief, emotion, and desire to create something bigger than myself. I work with both digital and physical mediums, often using unconventional materials such as fiber, cardboard, paper, and raw elements found in nature. I’m drawn to creating pieces that feel bold and dynamic while maintaining a sense of smoothness and intentional design. Texture plays a major role in my work, adding depth, character, and emotional weight.

Much of my religious work comes to me through dreams, prayer, and moments of meditation with God. In those moments, creating feels less like my own self expression and more like a collaboration with something that’s greater than myself. Other ways I draw inspiration is from things I’ve read, seen, or have experienced, moments that linger for me and ask to be explored visually. My goal is to make work that invites reflection and curiosity, especially for those who are open to learning more about Jesus Christ and the emotions that are tied to lived faith.

My process is intuitive and unconventional. I begin by physically engaging with various materials, allowing for touch and sensation to guide me towards the message that I want to communicate through my art. From there, I let my hands and heart take over and do the rest. Trial and error is essential for all of my work. The process is often messy, chaotic, and frustrating, but it’s through this experience of discombobulation where my work finds its voice.

Color and texture are what I try to have as the center of my art. I gravitate toward palettes that are either soft and delicate or are incredibly stark and defined, and intentionally use color rather than run from it. My creative space is one of deep thought and feeling, where prayer and reflection often shape the direction of my work. Through this process, I aim to create art that can tell a story, spark thought, and encourage viewers to see beyond themselves towards something greater, everlasting, and meaningful.
