MEET THE ARTIST:
Jess Quinn is a Des Moines–based oil painter whose large-scale botanical works explore movement, emotion, and the quiet structure within nature. Her paintings emphasize soft blends, curved forms, and the natural movement found in each bloom. Through a close-up perspective, Quinn invites viewers to slow down and notice the details, color relationships, and energy often overlooked in everyday encounters with flowers.
Working in oil, Quinn develops her paintings through multiple layers, gradually building depth and luminosity that reveal the complex structure of each flower. Her work has been exhibited in juried exhibitions and galleries throughout the Midwest and has received recognition in regional exhibitions. Quinn maintains a studio at Mainframe Studios in Des Moines, where she continues to develop large-scale botanical paintings.
