ARTIST BIO:

Looking at something, even the same thing, but from a different perspective, is why I believe art is alive. My work is searching to gain that new vantage point or from underneath the subtle surface, and tell stories that evoke a spark. My approach to my work is looking at the wider composition and having those who view follow along that route. I’m very interested in shaping new compositions with my digital graphics and animations and ink brush illustrations. I explore character designs in the different styles of linework, bending light perspectives to emphasize and ignite that spark. Emotion is what I believe in, that fuels my art and my need to create. I’m interested in using a vibrant touch of color to create these emotions of happiness and hopefulness, oftentimes contrasting with other choices of color, black, or white. I appreciate the work that has been done by artists before me, and I’m inspired by a lot of those artists in my childhood, like Bill Watterson or Kim Jung Gi. I was able to learn that you can create so much through perspective and I brought that into my process. I truly want to give people a different perspective through my work. I am passionate about the purpose of design, which is finding new ways to create that sense of hopefulness. I'm a senior studying Studio Art with a concentration in Graphic Design, along with studying a minor in art history.
