ARTIST BIO
Rachel Marie Droppers, known by her nickname Rexo, is an artist, photographer, musician, and mother of two daughters. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, Rachel spent her childhood in a remote area of Papua New Guinea as the daughter of missionaries. Now based in rural Nebraska, her formative years were deeply influenced by the vibrant culture and diverse languages of the region.
Growing up in the rainforest, Rachel was captivated by its intense colors and contrasting textures, which became a lasting inspiration in her artistic work. From a young age, she was immersed in creativity, making skirts and shorts for her friends on a treadle sewing machine, without patterns, and crafting jewelry from seeds found on the forest floor. Her artistic journey was further shaped by learning various crafts from the Sawiyano tribe, where she developed a profound connection to the natural world and its aesthetic richness.
