ARTIST BIO
Marie has been immersed in the visual arts since childhood, working in a wide range of media including watercolor, oil, colored pencil, pastel, ceramics, and mixed media. She earned her BFA in painting and drawing from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and later, after working at the Joslyn Art Museum, went on to complete a Master of Architecture at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
Throughout her architecture career, Marie brought a strong artistic sensibility to every project, integrating her deep understanding of color, line, and form. Today, she continues to paint and draw both in the studio and en plein air, finding inspiration in the spontaneity of direct observation. Her current work focuses on the fluidity and unpredictability of watercolor, particularly the expressive potential found in the margins of an image.
