ARTIST BIO:

Anna Stoysich is a ceramic artist and painter living in Malvern, IA. Her work is created in response to her observations of nature, especially of the Loess Hills landscape, the tall grass prairie, and wetland biomes. She holds a BFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2002). She spent the following 12 years working throughout the United States and abroad. She was a resident at the Archie Bray Foundation, studio assistant at Penland School of Craft, and apprenticed to ceramic artist Chris Gustin in South Dartmouth, MA. She was also a Montessori teacher in rural North Carolina and Mexico. Most recently, she was an artist in residence at Waubonsie State Park and Whiterock Conservancy. In 2020 and 2021, she was awarded grants from the Iowa Arts Council. She has also completed a community-based tile mural project in Malvern, IA, with a wetlands theme that will be installed this year.
